Homework…

http://witsblog.org/

The poem i chose was “Why I Hate Homework.”  The reason i like this poem is because i totally agree with it. The author uses metaphors of drowning and being burried alive to express how much he dislikes homework. I can relate to this because when i am doing homework i feel like i am being suffocated by papers. Although doing homework benefits us in everyway, it can be tidious and boring.  With each stroke of the keyboard my eyes are growing more and more tired, another example of how i can relate to this poem. The author says one day he will grow out of doing homework, from my experience i don’t think that will be anytime soon.

I agree with you about the poem. The point-of-view this poem is written in, is the way that most people in school think about homework. The poet explains how homework makes him feel, and uses imagery to allow the reader to feel the way that he explains it. The “It makes my head ache and my eyes feel tired. Homework is like being buried alive or drowning…” The thought of drowning or being buried alive, all make someone feel as if they are slowly dying inside.

I agree with on the dislike of homework or any school work for that matter. One would think after Junior High homework would stop or atleast slow down but, no this monster keeps going until post college. I was dreading even commenting on this but I’m semi mastered this homework thing.

This poem actually makes me want to read more poetry like this one. It makes the reader feel like he or she is not the only one, and this is a topic im sure a lot of people can not just relate too, but can also give it two thumbs up for thinking outside of the box. They should make this into a t-shirt and sell it to kids in high school ha ha.
